MSS SP 83: this standard is used in forged carbon and stainless steel pipe fittings, socket welded and threaded end housings and other important dimensions, surface finishing, tolerances, testing, marking, materials and minimum performance requirements.
Properties of Titanium Threaded Pipe Fittings
Titanium (Ti) has high strength, light weight, high enough heat resistance and low temperature toughness and good processing and welding properties. It is mainly used for casting pure titanium and forging pure titanium ZTA2 in valve production.

In fuming nitric acid, when the content of NO2 exceeds 2% and the water content is insufficient, titanium will explode in reaction with fuming nitric acid. Therefore, titanium is generally not used for high-temperature nitric acid with the content of more than 80%.
